Yosef earned his bachelor’s degree from Touro University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He was also a recipient of the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges award from the State of New York. He later obtained his master’s degree at the esteemed Herbert Lehman - City University of New York, where he graduated with honors. He is a member of the American Speech & Hearing Association, and a member of the ASHA Special Interest Group for Voice and Upper Airway Disorders (ASHA - SIG 3), and the Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA). Yosef is a recognized specialist in three primary areas: voice therapy, orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs), and language therapy for teenagers with neuro-cognitive deficits. His unique multidisciplinary approach to therapy creates a customized treatment team with related specialists in the field to provide the optimal treatment. He is a certified provider of the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) for people with Parkinson’s Disease, myofascial release with circumlaryngeal massage for people with laryngeal muscle tension, Lessac-Madison Resonant Voice Therapy (LMRVT). Yosef is also a professional singer, with international performances in Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, Australia, and the United States. His years of professional voice training and experience with the singing voice, coupled with his experience as a voice therapist provides a unique understanding and intimate appreciate for voice disorders, among professionals, children, and singers.
In addition to his training in treating voice disorders, Yosef has also gained expertise in assessing and treating orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT). He has additional training in treating oral motor deficits and articulation disorders associated with tethered oral tissue (TOT). Yosef is also a certified clinical specialist in treating language related deficits associated with ADHD, with further training in the treatment of executive functioning deficits and critical thinking skills. He is a sought-after lecturer on the topic of learning and behavioral difficulties associated with language impairments. He has also authored an innovative learning program for teenagers struggling with neuro-cognitive language impairments, which has been taught to numerous educators and institutions throughout Brooklyn, and he provided ongoing consultation of various schools on this topic. On his spare time, Yosef enjoys listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his wife and four children.
